Vermeulen eyes top three championship finish!!!!! (motogp.com) No way,
there is too much competition for this guy to hope to place third in
the 2009 world championship. Does this guy think he can beat Stoner,
Rossi or Pedrosa? Never mind the likes of Lorenzo or Andrea Dovizioso
who beat him in their rookie year and his 4th. Vermeulen has peaked,
and call him unlucky but with all this hot competition around him he
will have to be careful not to be squeezed out of the top 8.

Barring a _massive_ performance gain from the bike, I think he's out of
his mind. Self confidence is necessary, but so is a solid connection
with reality.
Can anyone see him beating:
Rossi?
(No)
Gorgeous Jorge?
(No)
Stoner?
(No)
Haystack?
(No. Maybe for a few races; longer if Nicky has Melandri-like problems,
which I don't think will happen. I'd put money on Nicky finishing the
championship ahead of him.)
Peddles?
(No)
Doviziozo?
(Just maybe!) I'm not sure how well Dovi will go on the midget machine.
Edwards/Toseland
(Very possible, depending on the Zook.)
De Puniet
(Probable)
DeAngeles
(Yes)
Elias
(Maybe, call them 'equal')
Callio/Canepa
(Who knows!)
Sete'
(Probably)
Takahashi
(Probably)
Loris
(OK, I'll give Vermin the nod over Capirex.)
That puts him in the fight for 5~7. If someone gets hurt, he might,
just maybe, poach 4th overall. 3rd is Crack Pipe territory.
