Class act by any standards...

Not sure why you say "class act" - it says pretty much what I
expected. However, the last paragraph :

“I mean, anything can happen in racing but we know Valentino,” he
said. “Let’s be real; give him eight points with one race to go, the
dude’s just got to follow me.”

...is just plain wrong. I'd bet a reasonable sum of money that Vale
will go all out to win, and definitely to finish in front of Hayden.
That's the way Rossi is wired. I don't think he's ever ridden for the
points in his life.

He didn't say Rossi *will* just follow, but that is all he *has* to
do, which is not wrong, but is completely right.

I suspect it's just the first step in a pre-race psychological battle,
Hayden's going to have to push hard in the last race and hope Rossi
crashes out or makes a mistake, and comments like that will only make
Rossi want to race harder and so increase the odds of mistakes.

I'd probably say the same thing in Hayden's place.

What he's saying is that he doesn't even have to beat him now, he can
just follow and win the championship if he wants, which is clearly
true. What's wrong with that?
