So that leaves Yamaha as the only factory team in US
roadracing.  Guess Roger is getting the series of private
teams he wanted in spite of any steps (mis-steps) he
took.

Will anybody homologate anything so that the private
teams can run anything???  Kawasaki has contingency
posted already, implying that they will homologate
something.  I haven't seen anything from Honda or
Suzuki.

Go fast. Take chances.

I thought maybe it was just ASB, but it seems "withdraw Team Honda from
participation in the 2009 AMA Roadracing Series" which implies no Team
Honda DSB either.

So I guess Hodgson is out of a job.

Was there ever a "Team Honda DSB"? Not that I'm aware of. The closest
would be Erion, and it appears that they will continue to race.

Probably. Or his contract will be assigned to Corona or Erion, if
possible, depending on how it was written.

So what were Hodgson and Duhamel on in the Daytona 200 last year?
Although they didn't do the whole FX series.

At the recent tyre test, did Team Honda have a 600 out there?

But now he has the Yamaha problem, and it's a big one in ASB. So what's
next for RE, will he demote ASB due to lack of interest? Will he do what
they had promised, sit on them in the rules to the point that other
equipment/teams can and will win races? Will they just bail anyway,
because of the economics and the lack of benefit from winning races in a
club series?

Both are saying they will continue to support their support teams, so
that means they'll have to homologate their bikes, I'd think. Which
would mean they're not taking as harsh of a position as they could have
with DMG, which I suspect means they've truly given up this time and
it's certain there won't be a MIC series until at least 2010.

Another little thing to note this week - DMG made their purse
announcement for next year, and the one thing, maybe the only thing that
got them really positive press this year, the 50k for the DSB weekend
winner bit, has turned out to be yet another lie. Now it's only 15k. And
the purse structure for ASB is identical to DSB, which suggests their
"ASB is the premier class" pronouncements were just more BS.

Merry Christmas, race fans...
