And out-qualified the Little Prince, which was personally satisfying to
see. As impressive as anything is the way he's been handling himself
this weekend, on the track, in the garage, with the press. The guy's a
pro and it shows; certainly can't hurt in his efforts to land a job for
next year.
But if it's dry tomorrow he lost a day there, and we'll see him slip
backwards, probably quickly. If it doesn't rain for the race I hope the
warmup is dry, 'cuz he needs at the time he can get; I think he just got
to the point of making changes at the end of the day yesterday.

Yeah, that was an ugly end to a frustrating day. Really bummed about
that starting position, as it especially screws him if it's a dry race.
I was hopeful that he'd be in it as at Losail, but now that seems very
unlikely. I just hope he doesn't throw it away trying to get it toward
the front. Don't want him on low-confidence or hurting going into Assen,
which also should be good for him.

Hey, at least you apparently admit they have race-winning ability - I'll
take that as a victory of sorts and just move on...
Anyway, in the run-up to Donington I was wondering if any professional
teams in racing have actually consummated a trade on riders, thinking
the best thing for everyone might be a Hayden-Melandri swap between
Corse and HRC. Of course HRC would lose something there, the
America-based promotional stuff that seems to be part of Hayden's value
there, so there'd have to be a "and a 125 rider to be named later" thing
added to the pot...
A few days later and the picture changes, though, with HRC actually
giving Hayden something he wanted and new life is quickly evidenced.
Still, it's not part of Honda's Master Plan, so surely Hayden will be
gone at the end of the year, almost certainly to land at Corse.
As for Marco, if he's out this week, does he end up replacing West at
Kawi? Kawi won't dump West immediately if he has a good result in the
wet tomorrow, but his days still seem numbered, unless he can run with
or close to Hopkins and threaten the top ten consistently. But will Kawi
bring Melandri in if he's ultimately destined for Gresini, or would any
deal include an option for next year if Kawi likes him?
As for Fausto, his team for next year is really up in the air - stays
with de Angelis, who has suddenly come good? Honda forces Nakano on him
again? Gets Melandri back? How about Capirossi, if Vermeulen saves his
job and Suzuki has become fully enamored with Spies?
And as for Spies, is he now in serious play for Corse? They must like
what they see so far.
Silly season in full bloom on the first day of summer...

All of you willing to write off Nicky, shame on you! Let's not forget
Colin edwards and kevin Swhantz didn't have half the success Nicky has
had as quickly as he got it. I love colin and Kevin. I suggest that if
Nicky doesn't get the ride that suits him quickly, he needs to ride
like K.Swantz and win or crash next for now on.

Shame on me? Why? I have no 'reason' to support Hayden.

Er, I don't think so - Schwantz won races in his first season. Nicky
took 3, iirc.
