that particula pic makes me wonder why stoner is not on the grippier
line on real tarmac. mind you, rossi's line choice is a poorer one...

Well Stoner got in late as well and screwed up his line, just not as
screwed up as Rossi's. I'm frankly amazed they both stayed on after
that.

First, guys overshoot a bit in the corkscrew all the time and run down
the curbing, and they don't seem to regard it as an issue, just as they
use curbing on corner exits in a lot of places. Second, Rossi's somewhat
out-of-control entrance into the corner messed up Stoner a bit, he had
to stand it up a little on the entrance and then kind of followed Rossi
through. Stoner certainly was aware of Rossi's presence and potential
for a passing attempt, but it doesn't appear that he was doing anything
that would have had him off line until Rossi cut across in front of him.
