The Edwards Excuse is one of the better ones.
"It's all Hayden's fault. If he could go fast when he's leading, he
would have won, I would have been second and I wouldn't have screwed up"
Rossi's on his case as well. It's all beginning to sound like Doohan and
Criville. "He can only go fast when he's following someone".
Let the mind games begin.
The next few races is where Edwards can really earn his keep. Ride
shotgun behind Rossi and take points off people. Can he do it?

That's an interesting mind game for Rossi to try to play, especially
now that all Nicky has to do to win is to be the fastest follower. And
also especially given how vividly Rossi demonstrated the meaningless of
the "total laps led" statistic last year.
And of course the more cynical out there might point out that while
Nicky might not be able to go fast when leading, at least he can keep
his bike on two wheels, which is more than either member of the Camel
Yamaha Team was capable of at Assen.

I good retort might be, 46? Hmm, is that your number, or how many points
you're behind me? Seems like you might need to speed up a little...

Earl raised a few very good racer's and not a fool in the bunch. If anyone
at this point might susceptible to a little trash talkin', it may just be
the Camel jockey's themselves...

Yeah, actually think talking up a fight is the best way to mobilize
Hayden's best. I think he's been riding with a wider safety margin than
anyone else in the grid this year. Good stuff. It'd be fantastic if going
forward we see some Hayden-Rossi showdowns. I feel we haven't seen Hayden's
best yet... while we have seen Rossi's...

Depending on how hurt he really is it might happen sooner than PI, but I
believe it will happen there for sure...
