James Toseland will be putting in a performance with his band 'crash'
at the English Motorcycle trade show. This guy is a nut case.

He did a show at Indy with members of the Indianapolis
Philharmonic and it was pretty impressive. The song he
wrote was teen-pop-crap but the old standards they did
were very nice actually.
Go fast. Take chances.

He's not a nut case, he's realized that this sort of thing improves
his marketability which will ultimately help him keep a ride in
MotoGP. It especially doesn't hurt that the manufacturer he rides for
just happens to be the one who makes pianos too. As a bonus it might
even be paying some of his bills at the same time since he's probably
not near the top of the MotoGP pay scale.
