As I speak the Factory riders/teams and DMG are engaged in a salvo of
press releases to determine who's in control. Here's what I'd like to
see happen to the primary riders for next year...
Duhamel retires.
Mladin tells DMG to take their fake competitiveness and HP limits and
F*** Off, then retires. Yosh excuses his contract because Suzuki
doesn't want to play anymore either.
Spies goes to Alstare Suzuki in WSB...as long as they can get the
funding to continue a top level effort. Maybe Suzuki will transfer
funding from the defunct AMA effort to Alstare on the condition that
Spies goes with it. I just don't see how riding a third rate Suzuki
in MotoGP is going to do him any good.
E-Boz needs to rediscover his Mojo and land on a competitive WSB ride.
I'd like to see him on a Ten Kate Honda, but that seems extremely
unlikely given his recent lack of success.
Hacking is a late bloomer, so he has to stick it out with DMG.
Zemke and Hayes land good rides in WSS. If they do well for a couple
years maybe a couple more in WSB is possible.
Hodgson lands back in WSB or BSB, or retires. Perhaps he takes
Biaggi's ride as Max moves to the factory team to replace Bayliss.
Neil and Ruben together again!
I just don't know about the Hayden brothers at this point, and I'm not
sure I really even care anymore. Tommy would probably excel in DSB.
That leaves the likes of Yates, May, Holden, Young, DiSalvo, etc. to
fulfill DMG vision of DSB and motorbike racing in America. If all
this came to be, the good thing would be that there's virtually no one
left that I care much about so it won't bother me at all when I
completely give up on "AMA" racing next year and stop watching or
following it altogether.
