It does look as though there will be a decent number of bikes on the
grid for Moto2 next season, which is a good start. What I'm not sure
about is where the money is going to come from to finance these teams.
I know Aprilia are building a chassis, but I can't see it being that
attractive as a promotional tool for the bike manufacturers. The large
number of teams signed up might be because they all see a chance to
start off from a level playing field. But inevitably it will come to
be dominated by a few teams, and the uncompetitive teams will struggle
to gain sponsorship, and we could see dwindling grids. Already
according to the Eurosport commentators Team KR have pulled out,
probably because of lack of money. On the other hand, I could be
totally wrong (I usually am), and the class could go from strength to
strength.
