guess that's a result of being a prodigy and growing up in an insulated
world not representative of the real world.
the net being for me, the book took some of the lustre off of my
opinion of rossi.

Don't judge him too harshly...yet. This happens a lot to prodigies.
Later, as they mature, they come around....mostly. If he's a smart as
I think he is, the years will bring wisdom, grace, and a little
humility.

Well, he already has a keener understanding of the history of
motorcycle racing than most young riders. His carrying a 7 in memory
of Barry Sheene, his "Sorry" flag for Mike Hailwood when he equalled
Hailwood's 76 victories, his awareness of Agostini's all time record -
none of this sounds very callow to me.
