When was the last time you heard Rossi say anything about his tyres
having gone off. And there he is setting fastest laps on the last lap.
Now listen to everyone else in the post race press conferences and press
releases. "I could have caught him but my tyres had gone off.", "I tried
to push but the rear was spinning up everywhere and going sideways not
forwards".
There's something going on here.

Not sure but it looks like maybe he has a real light touch, letting the bike
take care of itself, while others may be clamped to the bars.
I could be way off; haven't ridden any heavy bikes fast.

It was reported that Val had harder compound tires then both Nicky and Colin.
Looked like he might have been able to overtake Colin at the end of the race but
either didn't want
to chance it or felt that he'd give him a little present at his home track ??
There was no catching Nicky ...A great result for him and I hope a precursor to
further top results
even though he's riding a Honda :-(

My understanding is that Edwards selected a softer rear than Hayden and
Rossi, who ran the same tire. Anyway, here's the race results if you
drop the first four laps:
1) Edwards
2) Biaggi +1.46
3) Gibernau +1.89
4) Hayden +1.97
5) Rossi +2.49
Yeah, that Vale, he sure can manage the tires and save it all for the
end...

To me that reflects who f*cked up their start the worst, and says little
about the tire issue you talk about.
