I just bought this bike and its been great so far. It does have a few
quirks. The biggest seems to be the headlight. To get it to come on I
have to turn my right blinker on and only the high beam comes on. If I
turn the left blinker on then the light goes out and I cant turn the
blinker off. Would this be the switch or some other part?

Sounds like someone screwed up the wiring. I did something a little like
that with my '97 Shadow Spirit.
I wanted a tach (never had a bike without one), so I installed one from Drag
Specialties. I figured any power wire would work, because a tach hardly
needs much current, so I found one that was hot and used it. Turned out to
be hot at all times _except_ when the left turn signal was on.
Since I didn't need the tach much when signaling for a left turn, it didn't
seem worth the trouble to take the tank off and re-wire it.
I'll bet if you trace the headlight wiring, you'll find that it's been
patched. Incorrectly.
Just might be why the previous owner sold it?
