anyone know of an easy way to get a brake light switch on
the front of a 69 tr6? is there a short version of the later
cable with the switch built in?
i don't want to put some foreign looking brake assembly on,
but i do want the extra safety margin.

You live in England? If not, you've already got a foreign assembly on it.
Shouldn't take much to rig up the same type switch the rear uses & mount
it down at the wheel.

i'm in the u.s.. the import has nothing but a lever.
the switch in the cable types are a foot too long.
i've never had luck shortening cables.
are there any switch in the lever assembly types that look
ok?
i'm not sure of what you meant, the rear has a huge
rectangle box for a switch. how would that work?
thanks.

You missed my point. Triumphs are imports to the US, just like jap bikes.

This was the one I had in mind:

Should be easy enough to make this one work off the brakes. You'd need
to mount the switch to the hub and attach the clamp on the spring end to
the lever that the cable attaches to. Use this to ground the brakelight.
