Hi, I am new to this group and would like to post this question. I rode a
HD Heritage for a number of years before selling it. Lately the Yamaha Road
Star has got my attention. If anyone is familar with this model can you
tell me how it compares to a HD?
What I mean is in overall quality, construction, materials used, fit ,
finsh , handleing.
I have compared prices and there is a big differance.
Is the old saying true that you get what you pay for. Or, can Yamaha
produce a compareable & reliable motorcycle at less cost than HD? I sure
do like this bike and I have read alot of good reviews about it. And the
leftover 05's are a great deal. Thanks!

Heya Joe.
I think that aside from the obvious differences, you would be doing yourself
well on a RoadStar. I have a VStar 650, not the same I know, but my Star is
very reliable, durable, low maintenance and most of all fun to ride.
You can ask this question with other Star owners at
yamahashttp://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/yamahastarriders/
People here dont care what you rode and are very responsive to all sorts of
questions.
Give them a shot.

HD = Iconic name staus and cult following for overpricing. Also there's the
Me too! Me too! Me too! factor. They're great bikes but geeze there are
another one or two choices out there as well. Too many people that ride
Harleys care only that is says Harley. If the bike doesn't say Harley it
will be o.k. -- promise. If this seems scary then there's always -- Me too!
Me too! Me too!Me too! Me too! Me too!Me too! Me too! Me too!Me too! Me too!
