No, it's not the engine cutting out this time... I ended up replacing the
capacitors in the TCI module and checking the solder joints.  The problem went
away.

Now, it's a different problem.  First off, the bike burns oil.  I let it get
down low, and it started making a noise... it's kinda hard to describe.  When
I had work done on my car engine a couple of years back, after I picked it up
it initially had a problem where it was eating crankshaft bearings.  It kinda
sounds like that when the engine is under load (accelerating or uphill).  Yet,
it does run.  Sometime before that, I *think* some gas got into the crankcase
when I was trying to sync the carbs... I'm wondering if that might have
something to do with it.  (I put some seafoam in to clean things out, idled it
for a bit, then drained... and found some gunk on the drain plug.)

Lest I be accused again of ripping things apart without a plan, can anyone
shed some light as to how next to proceed?  As it sits, I have the valve cover
removed (the gasket has been leaking, and I've been meaning to replace it).

Don't be paranoid.  Everyone's not out to get you.  I am.
