Hi everyone -

I am a short-time rider, started about 6 months ago, all on my '81
SR250 ("The Exciter").  I love the bike, easy to ride, cheap,
forgiving, GREAT mileage, etc.  I was riding up the PCH on a beautiful
Saturday, hit a bump, and she just died.  I coasted over to the
shoulder, and started checking: no starter, no lights, no electrical at
all.  I could jump the solenoid and the engine would turn over very
nicely, but still no electric and she wouldn't run.  So I rented a van
and now she is in the driveway, and I am not a mechanic.  Ignition?
Kill switch? ???

Any suggestions?  She is old and well used.  The other issue is that I
have been looking for an upgrade to a larger bike, and I do not want to
spend too much on getting this one back up and running.

Any help/ideas/pointers etc. would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

thanks -

that looks like a good web site.
I don't think this little bike has a kickstand switch, but I will check
it out.
