1988 Venture 16,500 miles.
Rode on Monday - Wednesday this week, parked with no apparent problems, and
put it on the centerstand. It rained Wednesday night, and Thursday morning,
I noticed a wet spot under the bike. I assumed it was from the rain water
that had drained off, since it was under the low spot at the front of the
engine. This morning, the wet spot was still there. That's when I realized
something else must be going on.
I tasted the fluid on the ground, and it was obviously antifreeze. It also
had a very different chemical taste to it than usual antifreeze. Very
acidic/metalic. Also I now realized that the puddle is under the radiator,
etc.
Where should I look first? The coolant looks okay, colorwise, but I never
tested it. It has barely been cool enough to frost here, so I doubt
anything froze.
Thanks in advance,
CJB

Could be dog piss (joke, as you tasted it)
Coolant with antifreeze in usually leaves a furred up trace mark. Try
putting kitchen towel over the suspect area, or blow powdered chalk ( from a
cycle puncture repair kit) the wet patches will show up.
