purchased 92 seca 2 a few weeks ago.
Ran fine at first but  bogged down and wont re-start. When i try, just
get clicking like battery is dead. had a problem with the battery
holding a charge. Bike wont even run on choke.
turns over fine.. just wont run anymore.

Checked carbs- all clean
Changed spark plugs
Charged battery
Re- filled oil and fuel after emptying

What do i try next??
Should i try a new battery?

Help!!

Sounds like it may be your alternator but since batteries are relatively
cheap, I would try replacing that first.

get your battery tested.
replace if dead.

unfortunately, and i realize this will be of no help to you, and will
almost certainly get me flamed by someone who has a yamaha whisch has never
given them a moments trouble, you bought a yamaha, a mistake i also made a
while ago because a friend convinced me that they had finally gotten their
s__t together.

i was (possibly) less fortunate than you because i bought a new bike,
actually, with the cost of the last repairs, almost 2 new bikes.

for any who may be interested, i have ridden and/or owned a considerable
number of bikes from different manufacturers, starting, many, many, years
ago in my home country with british models.

since then i can state, without, as the saying goes, fear of contradiction,
that yamaha make the most unreliable motorcycles of any manufacturer.

you can be sure that if you own a yamaha, apart from the more than average
maintenence costs, at some time in the life of the unit you can expect a
HUGE repair bill.

in fact, i would say that repair costs during the life of yamaha
motorcycles would be more than those of the next 5, combined.
