If yes..... any opinions on the bike?

Yes. I have a 03' YZF-R6 Limited Edition black and red flames. Has a
Yoshimura RS-3 Oval stainless and lightened the load with flush mount and
micro turn signals while loosing the rear fender.
I am quite impressed with the handling and speed, the bike just doesn't want
to go slow. The DeltaBox (CF molded) frame and fuel injection are fantastic
improvements for 03 R6. I'm apt to get my first speeding ticket on this
thing, only had it for 3 weeks so far. Most of my friends have 1000-1200cc
bikes and I whipped them all, not really fair to them as none are in my
class of ride.
I'm really anxious to find some kind of rentable track time around Tampa FL,
so I can take some worry free corners, know of such a place?

Wrong bike. The first year for the "naked" FZ-6 was '04. Half fairing,
full-length seat, (more) upright riding position, and (slightly) de-tuned R6
engine (it still is pushing a 12.2:1 compression ratio) that runs on regular
unleaded from a five gallon tank for a 200+ mile range on the highway.

Is it a good bike?

My opinion is that is a very good bike for anyone who is looking for an
all-around performer. It shares the basic R6 engine design, but has more
midrange power at the expense of all out top speed (but 140 mph is fast
enough for me). Lots of power is made from 7000-12,500 rpm (I have no
problem keeping up with my stepson's R6 through the canyons around Las Vegas
if I keep it in third or fourth gear) but if you use the higher gears (fifth
to 60mph and sixth above 60) economy far exceeds what is reported in the
magazines. I usually get 40-43 mpg in town and if I lay on my tank bag and
tuck behind the wind screen (the most comfortable long haul position anyway)
I get 55 mpg at 70-80 mph.
I have ridden through all kinds of weather at altitudes up to 10,000 feet
with no major loss of power at altitude or any other nasty performance
glitches. Even wind is no problem since there is no lower fairing. The bike
just leans into the wind and continues on its original line in gusts up to
70 mph.
I have taken it on three trips to Southern California (one trip was 1400
miles in three days through the San Gabriel Mountains, San Bernadino
Mountains and up to Mt.Whitney in the Sierra Nevadas with a return trip
through Death Valley in May last year). The fan never comes on unless I am
stopped for a light or train (or traffic jam) for more than five minutes
even in summer (some days here hit 120 degrees F.).
Do I like my bike? Oh yeah! It's the best bike I've owned in 32 years of
riding in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, California, Maryland, Pennsylvania and
Virginia.
