On Virago 1100 1995. What is the mostly likely place to find the
shorting wire?? Might save a few hours tracking if there is a well known
weak point.

Hi Jones,
No experience of Viragos (other than divorcing one), but first place I'd
look at would be around the steering head and 'bars - that's about the only
place that sees much mechanical flexing and chafing that might strip the
insulation and causae a short - other than that, try undoing some of the
electrical pluggery and see if it still shorts - unless, of course, it only
does it occasionallly while riding, in which case you may need to strip some
parts off and visually inspect the loom - what are the symptoms, and when
does it happen?

Hi Dave,
Just happened twice in quick succession. It was after about 25 miles
each time and then the fuse just blew. Nothing else has gone (lights
etc. all working). Will check round head a.m. and then go to the
complicated and time consuming task of checking through the loom...
[long sigh]
