I was wondering if anyone has extended their rear swing arm on their Yamaha
XS 650? If so, were did you place the extensions?

why do it? the damn things have a hinge in the frame performance wise and are
hard to scrape the pegs on. you would make it flakier.

Well I was waiting for more responses, but I guess not. I want to extend the
swing arm to improve the ride not performance. I'm not the kind of rider
that likes to zip in and out of traffic (maybe that's why I've been riding
since 1959 without a serious accident). The XS is setup with the rear wheel
just under your butt. This is fine if you want to road race and haul ass
around the hairpins. I ride my XS daily and I want keep riding it without
having to be hooked up to a Kidney dialysis machine every week. Besides if I
could post a picture on this group you can see how the cool factor goes up
with an extended swing arm.

Thank for the responce.

i've owned several. that's why my comments. the 72 and very different 75's
both had a hinge in the frame, riding wise, so i know what you mean.
there are better ways to fix that then a longer arm.
if i didn't suggest finding the xs650 groups in yahoo and google, try it for
the best advice about your bike.
there is a thumper group that covers all my singles and they often help.

I'm a member of several XS650 forums. What I'm talking about is this:

Of course this is a Triumph and they appear to be using a YZ400 swing arm,
but this is what I'm going for.
