Greetings fellow riders,

I have purchased a Jardine oil filter relocation kit for my 2005
Vstar 1100 Silverado. Has anybody else installed one of these? If so,
was it difficult? Also, do I need any additional gaskets that would
need replacement? Thanks and ride safe.

I fitted the Baron relocation kit about 2 months ago to my xvs1100 Dragstar,
it's fitting is roughly the same. it's really easy, the only problem I had
was that you have to remove your front exhaust to be able to remove the
original oil filter cover but mine had corroded nuts so it took me a couple
of hours just to remove those and re stud the engine  block. Other wise it's
very easy and makes future oil changes a doddle.

You should be able to re use your rubber O rings from the original oil
filter cover but for the sake of a few pence it's worth having a set of O
rings to hand, and you will need to replace the exhaust manifold gasket

good luck

Paul
