Good day all,

This is long shot but I am looking for a kick start lever for a ' 69
Yamaha street bike. It's a 250cc twin,  2 stroke. The shaft size is
0.750" (3/4") and 33 spline.
The S/N of the engine and trans assbly is DS6-106038
Can anyone help?

yds3 or 3c? any good parts yard will have the right shaft
diameter. just grab one that fits and has a easy arc for
kicking.
i have a 66 yr1 350cc 2-stroke street bike and i used a yds3
with great results.

Thanks for your reply. This may sound ignorant (which it is) but could
you please define "yds3 & 3c".

look on the neck, turn it hard left and read the tag.
the yds3 is the street, the 3c has high pipes for a pseudo
scrambler. i'm betting a 3 as the 3c's are rarer....not many
survived. you have an oil tank on the side with a clear
eyeball to check oil. and a unified tach/speedo with 2
needles and 3 glow lights.

Thanks again - you're very knowledgable on these bikes. I need to tell
you a little more. This engine and trans is no longer part of a bike.
It has been tranplanted into an off road go cart. I bought it from the
guy who built it but didn't quite finish it. I'm just in the process of
getting it up and running. He has run it but had to push start it which
is a bit of a pain as I'm sure you can imagine.
Thanks muchly for the info. I just learned of a salvage yard which I
didn't know of untill today so I will check it out later in the week.
At least now I know what to look for.
