Does anyone out there know where my best chance to find this side cover
might be? It is the lower (small) plastic black one. They want $85 for
it but that's just ridiculous unless they're having to pull out the die
and remold it.

Keep your eyes open on Ebay... those side-panels are made of "Unobtanium".

nonsense! i've seen mounds at junk yards.

Mounds.. sure. But they're only there when you don't need them, and for
models of bikes you don't own.. AS soon as you pay dealer $$$$ for a
replacement.. one will show up in the local bike wrecker's pile...

that's why i reccomend walneck's. many parts dealears and choices.
