I am trying to get a rack for the above bike and am having some
trouble finding something suitable. I have asked this question before
and was pointed at a Renntec Sports Rack - but guess what? They are
only suitable for loads up to 2Kg!
There are certain 'spare' fixings on the frame which presumably were
for rack fitting and so at some stage a decent load bearing rack must
have been available. Anyone got an idea of a supplier? Model No?
Even a photo would be useful - or an indication of which other bikes
(if any) the same rack might fit. That way I can go the ebay-way
before I end up making one!

One reason for that limit may be liability. Obviously, 2 kg isn't gonna
change the balance and cause you to get hurt. If they tell you the rack
will hold 50 pounds, they could be included in a lawsuit some day when some
inexperienced fool drops it with a big load on the rack.
The OEM rack on the rear deck of my Miata is factory rated to hold 10 kg (22
pounds)! I've had loads well over 100 pounds back there with no problem at
all.
