Some people sometimes like myself tend to follow instruction than
personal analysis, it's easier that way..saves time and human error mistakes
and all that.....
You used a "Motoman" with a "factory" spec combo which is
eliminating any chance of future engine surprises.....

My filter is a ribbed paper/metal one something like Amsoil but the
Yamy manual says after the 1st change the 2nd one is good for
20,000k+...........so this tells me that the filtering system is
exceptionally real good......not like Amsoil filter recommendations, or are
they just selling filters?
I checked with an engine break-in bypass to 3,000k and found the
filter well stuffed, and the engine oil still clean except for some
carbonising....it's a low performance/rev 400cc piston engine known as a
thumper Maj 400cc Italian Motor Block..(Minarelli?)<--Spell? lotsa red
china, MBK France assembled....
Oil pan Scrim Metal Screen filter was obviously clean too....
So we can talk about specs of (ppm) metals, but this should all be
locked in the paper filter wedges, and they don't come out the pressured
filter's metal perforations....

So you have a good filter doing it's job...this stuff doesn't go
back into the motor....usually some (ppm) may seep back......

|>2nd engine oil was normal. I hardly found or felt metal particles.
Metal particles should have been resolved by the new filtration
elements.....and they were.

If I may compare it to gun, some people clean their bore a few times
a day, and at my range, the defacto standard there is NEVER clean the bore,
and sometimes like every 4,000 rounds, clean the breech/bolt face.
Some people clean everything beyond field stripping, others never
touch it...same results. Again if you change oil too often, then you run

into a Higher 70%-->90% extra wear and shearing point factor, but the end
results are pretty much the same.
Some people oil their guns, my manual says, NEVER, NEVER.....
It's a strange comparison, not to comparative, but it shows how
varied opinions and actions, achieve the same results....
Some people ask about breaking in a new Gun even.....answer no such
thing....just run it.
