I tried a wild thing like that just some 4 months ago, I used a 12
volt Cliplight laser 6 Battery charger, and low battery took some 2.5 hours
to get to the charge/charging mode, and I was looking at a 5 hour complete
charge.
This was on a GT9B-4 8 amp 10Ah battery for a Majesty 400, which was
sitting in the laneway with all kinds of rumaging "Scavengers" around...which
is why I risked the 6amp charger.....which BTW never came close to fully
charging, or even warming the battery???

These are good Batt-tenders if you have the tender, or don't have the
time to monitor a $15 "WallWart" variable volt/amp Universal charger.....
I have used other kinds of chargers to monitor the effect.......for
instance, if you have an xtra batterry you can use it internally or
externally in your Computer Backup UPS system...keeping it charged all the
time.
