Walt,
On both of my R1's I go through 2 rear tires to 1 front tire. That
is street driving for you here in Columbus. Yes you can safely do
this. The best advice I can give is to stay with the Stock sizes that
came on the bike. They were engineered with those front and rear sizes
for a reason!!!
