Or go to http://www.starmotorcycles.com/ register yer bike and read up on
the owners manual. You CAN change oil & filter w/out anything special other
than cold beer. Which I think I'll do this weekend.
It has all the recommended service schedules and breakdowns of what needs
done when.

I have an 1100 and my buddy had a 650 - both require you to take off a
side cover to get at the oil filter - they make an oil relocation kit
that costs about 250 ...
not sure on the 650 but on mine the bolts are different sizes and
there is a little rubber ) ring on one that you should be sure to put
back on. Also make sure you get the oil filter in the correct way
(trust me, it can go in backwards).
I adjusted my valves after about 8K and they weren't far off - I
figure I'll do it once a year (I put on about 5K a yr) - maybe every
other - it wasn't much fun.
