Can someone out there please explain to me why Yamaha has reverse
threads on the mirror mounts on the right had side? This seems to me
to be backwards given that the force from the wind acting on the mirror
would tend to want to loosen the mirror.
Also, I bought after market mirrors, and the appropriate Metric Bike
adapters for my V-Star 650, and notice that the adapter screws into the
mirror with a standard thread, but the other half of the adapter screws
into the bike with the reverse thread. it's a pain to tighten one
without actually loosing the other end when mounting the mirrors.
Anyway, I was just wondering about others experience, and if I am
missing something blatantly obvious. Thanks for your help...

my sr's were like that. i hate the stock mirrors so to use
the long stalk stabile triumph rounds i had to re-tap the
holes. once you have the first grooves started, it's pretty
easy.

If they 'catch' something on the way past, they move not yank the bars
around steering into what caught you.
