I just bought an 88 Yamaha Virago 535 and have been riding it.
Shortly after I bought it, it started running rough, even stalling
when I stop at a light. And I noticed that it’s only getting about
10-15 MPG. When I start it after it sits overnight, it even will
slightly backfire a few times. I haven’t really worked on bikes
before so I was hoping someone might have some ideas to try.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

clean/rebuild the carbs after checking to see if needed.
