Hi all,
My son's (pride & joy) Dragstar 650 died on him a few days ago and has
a siezed engine. He's having trouble locating anything from a
breaker's, what's the best thing, sell for scrap or can it be repaired
at a reasonable cost?
Its on a 'Y' plate, about six years old.
Cheers
Brian.

Depends - why did it seize? If through lack of oil then might need quite
a lot doing to it. Also depends how much you are willing/able to do
yourself. If it's just a rebore/pistons/rings then that's a relatively
low cost job, but still in the £hundreds IMHO.

Not sure of its value but it won't be an enormous amount (as a runner),
couple of grand maybe - probably best to break and sell.
The engine can also be broken and usable parts sold.

He's *seized* a big fourstroke? Are you sure? Good effort if so.

Oh, I dunno, it's easy if you know how. In fact I did it to my GS550E
and got an OMF# for it.
