I thought it was two stroke..

Still took some doing though, and it did have oil in it. Very odd. :/

As Champ says then, are you sure it's seized, and not a
gearbox/clutch/final drive/starter motor or summat problem?

Hmm, the RAC man thought it was seized as did the mechanics (good lads
apparently) where it was dropped off..

Its gotta be worth a second opinion though..

OK, spoke to a Yamaha dealer re possible repair this morning and I
quote; "the only reason a two stroke will seze, is due to lack of oil"

The opinion of an RAC man (OK I know he's 'cars') plus the assured
opinion of mechanics close to where my son lives.
