Hi,

My son's friend has asked me to see if anyone has experienced cold starting
problems with a Yamaha Thundercat YZF 600 (1997) and if there is a remedy,
or any course of remedial action - short of trading the bike in. It will
always start when warm, but not cold e.g. the following day. It has to be
bump started as it will not fire up off the starter motor! Even a new
battery made no difference! Thanks in advance - all advice most welcome.

Cheers,
Ron.

A '97 would be carburetted, right?  Have you checked the choke cable, to
make sure it's not broken or disconnected?

Thanks for the reply. My son says the cable is connected and functioning.
They both trained as mechanics, but not on bikes and they did not cover
carbs in detail? Cheers.

Ron.

time to peel the carb apart and check seals and movements.

and the carb. if it takes a long time to warm up, you got
