again obvious, but try new bulb and test the old one on a 2 wire hook up with
a battery.

Ok, I tried a new bulb, nothing. Tested both new and old bulb on
battery and they both worked. Checked the fuse again and it's fine.
Checked for power at the connection and there was none. Checked for
continuity on the negative wire at the connection to the frame of the
cycle and that tested good. Probably a bad wiring harness? I'm going
to bring it in for some warranty work and hope it's covered.

It's a 2007. I noticed that the light does work when the cycle is
running. However, it used to work without the engine running because I
did all of my pre-ride light checks without the engine running.
Someone else I know with the same cycle checked theirs and their
headlight only comes on when the cycle is running too. What is the
normal behavior?
