Hi all,
I've got a `93 XV250 (Virago) with (I'm pretty sure) a bung starter
motor (hooking it up to a battery (in a vice :)) produces nothing but a
nice spark, while the solenoid seems fine).
I suspect that I'll have a bit of a job finding a refurb one here in
New Zealand, not many XV250s on the roads here, especially not early
ones (don't know if the starter has changed at all in the later
models).
Anybody know any alternatives from other (easier to find at wreckers
:)) models that would fit?
Kinda not wanting to know what a new one would cost me :-(

Dunno about NZ, but here in the states, starter motors are one of those
things that are commonly rebuilt. You might want to see whether a local
shop can rebuild yours, as an alternative to replacing it entirely.
