you shouldn't need to eplace the carb. unless it's cracked or in someway
damaged, you should be able to fix it. did the pro rebuild it?
try the rebuild kit first.
and share the results, ok jim?

any idea where to buy a "rebuild kit" i've put a new pilot jet, nozzle valve
assembly, and have a new float on the way. if i hafta keep buying individaul
parts at the price i'm paying, i could buy a complete carb, that is if i
could find one. i looked at the thumper page. 4 stroke. mine's a 2

did you ask in the message forum? plenty of 2 stroke owners.
look in a newstand copy of walneck's classic cycle trader for 100's of
dealers.
