i just got my 2005 r1 april 1st. i have put 1800miles on it so far. i
expect to do about 8000 for the summer. now thats riding. not to metion
that this is my third r1. yee i go through them like sneakers. yamaha
makes a very good sport bike.

1800 since April puts you at just under 12k miles a year. Thats about
average for Southern California. Next weekend I will be doing about 1400
miles, and I expect to keep right around that pace for the summer.

Sorry guys, but you got the better weather (US) and I average 23,500 miles a
year, work purposes and touring every year.
Never thought US riders were light weights when it came to a bit of H2O on
the road!!
And the gauntlet goes down.

I can understand when someone in the northers states puts away their bike
for the winter. Riding in the snow cant be all the much fun for every day
riding. I used to have a link for someone that makes motorcycle snow
chains... I will keep looking and try to dig it up.
