Hi all,

I have a YZF-R1 2005 which I have imported to UK, but according to the law
here I have to change the speedometer to mph instead of km/h. Beeing all
digital I tought it could just easily be set to mph by simply using the
dealer sevice manual. But unfortunately it is not so.

Does anyone know if there is a way (maybe replacing the firmware) to change
the speedometer from km/h to mph without having to replace the whole unit?

Thanks
Ivan

Buy a new one, you'll never do it any other way.

Or install one of those simple bicycle speedos that have a pickup on the
wheel.
That might satisfy them

Add some stickers or a replacement faceplate - that should satisfy the
speedometer part and the local law requirement.

The odometer would be a different issue.

In the old days wen this was brought into Canada we used stickers on the
speedometer.I know that would suck but better than nothing.
