HELP>>>>
has anyone got any ideas why my fuel tank has a HUGE suction dent
after returning from Yosemite 6000’ elevation. The bike is 2 weeks
old. Tank looked ok After taking it off the trailer... rode ten miles
at home then covered and stored for 1 day. This morning there is a
HUGE suction dent in the tank top and when I opened the cap there was
a big suction sound. I thought these tanks were vented. Any ideas why
this happened?
Thanks

At 2 weeks old, I'd be paying the dealer a REALLY quick visit and asking for
a new tank with a new cap to replace the obviously defective one!

ya, return to the dealer, the yamaha's use a air vent tube that runs
under the tank that sometimes gets kinked... I have a roadstar, and it
did the same thing (but not to the point of denting)... some guys will
replace the line, some will cut it short and add a small fuel filter on
it. I found directions on how to vent my gas cap, I do get a slight
smell of gas on warm days, but I know the tank is breathing... ~D
